Urorec (Silodosin)
What is Urorec (Silodosin) used for? Urorec contains Silodosin, an alpha-adrenergic blocker used as a treatment for men suffering from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). As men get older, the prostate often becomes enlarged and can compress the urethra, causing problems with urination. Silodosin works by relaxing the muscles of the prostate and bladder to improve urine flow. How should I use Urorec (Silodosin)? Silodosin comes in an 8mg tablet, and the usual dosage is one tablet each day. This may be different for some people depending on the symptoms. What are the side effects of Urorec (Silodosin)? Urorec is generally well tolerated and has few side effects. Some people develop headaches, dizziness, nasal congestion, ejaculation irregularities, or reduced blood pressure while taking Silodosin. If you have an erection that persists for an unusually long period of time, seek medical advice immediately. Also contact your doctor if you show any signs that you may be allergic to silodosin (rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing). Please Note Your doctor will continue to check your prostate and blood pressure while taking Urorec. This will ensure you are taking the correct dosage and that it is working as intended. Urorec is for men only and must not be taken by women. |
