Fluconazole (Fluconazole)
What is Fluconazole (Fluconazole) used for? Ozole (Fluconazole) is an oral anti-fungal medication prescribed to treat patients who are suffering from a large variety of fungal infections. It operates by preventing or slowing the reproduction of fungus cells allowing the immune system to control or eliminate the infection. This makes it useful for treating infections of the nails, skin, urinary tract, blood, mucous membranes, or genitals. It should be noted that this medication will not be effective for treating infections caused by a virus or bacteria. Your doctor may also prescribe its medication for the treatment of other unlisted conditions. How should I use Fluconazole (Fluconazole)? Ozole (Fluconazole) is normally prescribed to be taken once daily at a dosage of one tablet for a cycle of medicine lasting one or two weeks, but your individual instructions will be determined by your doctor depending on your age, weight, current health, the condition being treated, and the severity of your symptoms. These should be swallowed with a full glass of water and may be taken with or without food. Do not stop taking the medicine before being instructed to, even if your symptoms seem to have disappeared, as the infection may not be gone and can return stronger or more resistant to treatment. A snack or meal may be recommended prior to use if you get an upset stomach. Never split or chew the tablets to avoid destroying or altering the effects of their contents. Ask your pharmacist or doctor any questions you have about using the medicine to ensure the correct administration. What are the side effects of Fluconazole (Fluconazole)? Ozole (Fluconazole) may cause side effects in some patients such as:
Stop taking the medication and contact your doctor if you experience any intense or worrying symptoms such as fever, flu symptoms, severe headaches, sensitive skin, easier bruising, severe skin rashes, seizures, or signs of liver problems such as darkened urine, discoloured stools, or jaundice. These conditions may require lower doses, reduced frequency of administration, or emergency medical attention in serious cases to prevent further health complications from occurring. Please Note Do not begin using Ozole (Fluconazole) if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, lactose intolerant, fructose intolerant, allergic to azole antifungal medications, if you have had a bad reaction to similar treatments in the past, or if you have porphyrias. Also inform your doctor if you have disturbed electrolyte levels, an irregular heartbeat, liver disease, or kidney disease as these conditions may cause unexpected health problems requiring special alterations to your treatment. Strictly use Ozole (Fluconazole) as prescribed and follow all instructions provided by your doctor. Safe, suitable, and optimum dosage can vary and is dependent on the patient`s health and medical history, as well as the condition you are treating. Ozole (Fluconazole) may not be safe or suitable for all patients. Always ensure your doctor is informed if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, using any other type of medication (including non-prescription medicine, vitamins, and supplements), as well as if you have any allergies, other illnesses, or pre-existing medication conditions. Seek immediate medical attention or proceed to your nearest accident and emergency department if you suffer a hypersensitive or allergic reaction. Symptoms usually present during a reaction of this nature include difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling of the limbs or face, tight chest, hives, and skin rashes. |
