What is EllaOne (Ulipristal Acetate) used for?

Ellaone is the emergency contraceptive pill as also we known as "morning after pill" which is used for an unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure to prevent pregnancy.

The medication prevents pregnancy primarily, or perhaps exclusively, by delaying or inhibiting ovulation.

How should I use EllaOne (Ulipristal Acetate) ?

One tablet is normally can be taken as soon as possible in 120 hours (5days) after unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure. Ellaone can be taken with or without food.

You should contact your doctor or healthcare if you are feeling unwell after taking this product. E.g. vomit within 3 hours, allergic reaction.

Ellaone can be taken at any time during menstrual cycle, also no more than one time in the same menstrual cycle.
It is suitable for any woman of childbearing age, including adolescents.

What are the side effects of EllaOne (Ulipristal Acetate) ?

EllaOne (Ulipristal Acetate) may cause side effects in some patient including:

• Mild nausea or vomiting
• Dizziness, tired feeling
• Headache
• Muscle pain or tenderness
• Painful menstrual periods

Stop using medicine and seeking for advice with your healthcare and Doctor if you have experience of any unusual symptoms such as chest pain, allergic reaction, choking sensations, fainting or brief loss of consciousness.

Please Note

EllaOne (Ulipristal Acetate) should not be use for interrupt an existing pregnancy. Breastfeeding was not recommended for 36 hours after taking ulipristal. Ulipristal acetate can be detected in breast milk up to 5 days after ingestion, and that breastfeeding should be avoided for one week after use of medicine.
